I've been on sertraline for four weeks now. after taking citalopram for fifteen years. I had to come down from 50mg to 20mg is fourteen days. and then I started sertraline. but it was hellish, spent the past four weeks feeling really unsettled, having panic attacks. apparently you need to stick with it but otherwise i'd stop. I started on 25mg then 50mg and now on a hundred. so you start thinki...

Sertraline (50mg) for anxiety & panic disorder

I was prescribed sertraline today by the doctor but after reading the patient information leaflet I didn't think I really should take them because I'd been worrying about heart problems for 8 weeks. That was all sorted but my anxiety and symptoms remain because I've read that you can still suddenly have a heart attack or other heart disease so I probably shouldn't really take them. Going back t...

Sertraline (50mg) for emotional exhaustion / burnout

after a breakdown I started on citalopram but the severe side effects caused me to switch to sertraline, the first 2 months were good but then the side effects started: pimples on my body, sometimes small and sometimes really big and painful, pain in my joints, memory loss, loss of concentration, libido down to 0, weight gain. even today I still have pain in my joints, and it's even getting wor...

Sertraline (25mg) for anxiety disorder

I started taking Sertraline in 2010 because of social anxiety. Initially my symptoms only got worse, over the first 3 weeks. But then after 4-6 weeks, the perfect result. My symptoms have completely disappeared. Few, if any, side effects any more.

Sertraline (50mg) for anxiety & panic disorder

Medication helps me to get through certain situations better. It's easier for me to let things go and I'm not so obsessively over-thinking things. Unfortunately I'm sweating a lot (I mean, really a lot) in bed and I've gained 8 kg. I don't suppose this is just water retention? I'm eating just the same as I always have.

Sertraline (50mg) for unrest

Started with 12,5mg , then up to 25mg and now on 37,5 mg and I really notice the difference. At the start I experienced some dizziness and fatigue so I changed to a lower dosage and started taking it before sleeping instead of in the mornings. A lot better. No more restlessness, improved sleep, less stress, less brooding, all in all satisfied.

Sertraline (50mg) for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)

Side effects I had when using Sertraline: weight gain, lower libido, no orgasm, dry mouth, fatigue. I changed from Sertraline to wellbutrin which took a lot of effort but was definitely worth it. No more side effects and I hope to get rid of all the extra weight I gained.

Sertraline (50mg) for anxiety & panic disorder

Hello, I've just got a little question normally I take 50 mg sertraline and this works perfectly and for as long as I can think I haven't had any side effects.. Perhaps a little lower libido. I now spend a lot of time abroad, e.g. for about 3 months. I thought I was only staying for 2 months but I stayed for an extra month and ran out of medicine.. I got some Sertraline in America but on it it ...

Sertraline (100mg) for depression

I've been using sertraline for 6 months, the first 2 months 50 mg from Sandoz but I hardly noticed a difference on it. Then increased to 100 mg from Mylan and it has changed my life! I look at life positively again and hardly have any problems with my symptoms. There were a few side effects in the beginning but you just have to accept them..

Sertraline (50mg) for insomnia

From pill 1 I had peace in my head. Tried everything else so now it's antidepressants. I should have done it a lot sooner. I struggle to fall asleep but I have so much more energy that the side effect is negligible.

Sertraline (100mg) for anxiety & panic disorder

I started on 25 mg and increased to 100 mg within 1 month. Suffered really badly with side effects and the itchiness and binge eating are still there. I scratched my whole back and scalp red raw and in 2 months I've put on 2 kgs, I was putting weight on even when I was eating "normally" and was no longer hungry. I've stopped now and have got withdrawal symptoms, the same as above but I know tha...

Sertraline (100mg) for anxiety & panic disorder

I've only been taking this medicine for a month. I've suffered with anxiety and panic attacks for 7 years and they seriously affected my youth, tried all sorts of different medicines (like alprozolam...), they helped briefly but then the effects wore off. I've now been prescribed sertraline and I've had loads of side effects (difficulty swallowing, no appetite), but as far as I'm concerned ther...

Sertraline (25mg) for autism

I've always tried to cope with my depression myself through exercise, walking, eating healthily, not drinking, taking vitamins, meditating, therapy/training and 12-step programmes. The psychiatrist advised an SSRI and sertraline seem to be the right drug. However, my moods quickly flattened out and all of a sudden, after years, I suddenly developed obsessive thoughts of self-harm and suicide. I...

Sertraline (50mg) for depression

been taking sertraline from about one year because I was so depressed I could only cry and worry about everything! I've tried every therapy going all my life but this medicine seems to be the solution. It would appear that it's a lack of serotonin causing me to be stressed all the time, easily confused and agitated. That has passed and now, after 60 years, I know that this is the answer for me.

Sertraline (100mg) for depression

After three life events in 2008 in quick succession, including a traumatic departure from a job, via a psychiatrist I switched from Seroxat (which I sometimes took together with 2 mg of diazepam) to 200 mg sertraline at first; after two years 100 mg combined with 5 mg of diazepam three times a day. Sometimes I need more diazepam. But I do this in discussion with my psychiatrist. Whenever I expe...

Sertraline (50mg) for depression

After many years of depression coming and going I tried medication for the first time. I knew that it would take time for it to have any effect and that it may even make my symptoms worse to begin with. That did happen, I didn't feel like myself, had a really dry mouth and had to pee a lot at night. But apart from that I slept really well! But my feelings of apathy just seemed to get worse, I c...

Sertraline (50mg) for depression

I only started this medicine a couple of days ago. After 13 years of taking Paroxetine then coming off it, the depressive feelings are back. I can't say much about it but I take oxazepam for the side effects because if I don't then I get palpitations and then hyperventilate as a result of the stress I feel. Are there other people here who also take this combination?

Sertraline (25mg) for premenstrual syndrome (PMS)

I don't know what's happened to me, I feel so good. I have been taking Sertraline 25 mg now for 4 weeks and I almost can't believe what it's doing to me. I am used to feeling anxious before each bad period but if I look back over the past 4 weeks, I haven't felt it at all. I am wary of falling back into a deep "hole", even though I feel fine at the moment. I can only hope that I will still fee...

Sertraline (50mg) for anxiety & panic disorder

Because of my hypersensitivity and constantly wanting to help others I developed all kinds of problems resulting in anxiety and depression. Sertraline 150 mg helps me to keep my feelings, anxiety and depression under control. You know if Sertraline is working for you after between two and six weeks. If it works then it takes a other three to four months until you feel the full effect.

Sertraline (25mg) for chronic depression

Since using sertraline I have slept less than one hour a night. My brain feels really stimulated, there is a tingling inside my head with light headache. The world seems false, I don't feel myself. Sexual senses are reduced. My body feels strange, mild tremors, restlessness, restless legs. At this point I stopped taking this medicine.
