Paroxetine (20mg) for depression

When I first took paroxetine there were no problems. I stopped taking it cold turkey and started taking it again after about one year. then I noticed spots all over my body, starting on my lower legs and arms. I tried applying various salves but that didn't help so I had a biopsy. the dermatologist said it's a kind of psoriasis. So I switched to fluoxetine and I was given a course of prednisone...

Paroxetine (30mg) for depression

It just didn't work, at least not for me. Most antidepressants do nothing for me. I believe I have already tried 25. (AM now 41 years depressed.) After suicide attempt I have gotten Notrilen. It's all dredging. In the Netherlands, 17 million non-depressed people are around, but they refuse to function as such in favour of those who are depressed.

Paroxetine (10mg) for depression

Good drug for depression but I can't really recommend it. You're better off taking something natural like St John's Wort! I was once advised never to start taking paroxetine. But I was never told why. But if I had known then what I know now, I would never have started taking it. After long-term use (I've been on it now for 12 years, 30 mg) your feelings get numbed and it affects your memory. Co...

Paroxetine (20mg) for anxiety & panic disorder

Due to trauma in my childhood I now suffer from mild anxiety and panic disorders. I'm also rather down. I asked to try medication and the GP suggested paroxetine. In the first two weeks I had loads of side effects: lack of concentration, really tired, no appetite, weight gain. No more problems after then though. There are loads of benefits to this medicine! A lot less blue and anxious.

Paroxetine (20mg) for anxiety disorder

When I was increasing my paroxetine dose I started off just feeling worse. The symptoms got worse and I was only able to keep it together with the help of oxazepam. After a week or six I started to notice the positive effects and since then I've felt more even and balanced and happier.

Paroxetine (20mg) for emotional exhaustion / burnout

Paroxetine helped me get over the anxieties (social anxiety) that I was suffering from before I had my breakdown, and get back to work, alongside CBT. I'm now coming off it, from 20-15-10-5-0 and no symptoms until I got down to the 5. I've been off it for almost 2 weeks now but the withdrawal symptoms are noticeable: tired, diarrhoea, stomach cramps, nervous, irritable to aggressive.

Paroxetine (10mg) for anxiety & panic disorder

I take half a table because I can't bear a whole one. The first eight weeks I suffered with insomnia and then occasionally after than I bruised really easily whenever I bumped a knee or something, and restless legs. But it gives me the boost I need to get through the day. I panic really badly in large rooms with lots of people which makes me start thinking about all the things that could happen...

Paroxetine (30mg) for borderline personality disorder (BPD)

Prescribed by my GP for depression and anxiety. In the beginning I had loads of side effects: heart palpitations, sweating, excessive yawning, disorientation and loss of concentration. The yawning still hasn't gone away. I was satisfied at the start, everything seemed to stabilise. But after 6 months I had to start taking oxazepam as well because the symptoms of depression increased, had suicid...

Paroxetine (10mg) for depression

After long-term use of parox.(>10yrm50!mgr).on the advice of a young psychiatrist switched to Wellbutrin 300 mgr,on a withdrawal/introducing schedule. Within 6wks!I was a totally different person. My mood improved 100%. All of a sudden I had energy again and could enjoy life. One disadvantage of Wellbutrin: it made me very sensitive to "emotional images and experiences", eg profoundly moved by ...

Paroxetine (20mg) for depression

To start off with it seemed to be working fine but after years the depression has come back and I have to ask myself if I can justify taking this for the long term. I've made a few attempts to stop taking it but after weeks of being "clean", the depression returns worse than ever. The happy girl I once used to be has long since vanished...

Paroxetine (30mg) for anxiety & panic disorder

Started this medication years ago on doctor’s prescription. Now I notice getting forgetful and losing concentration. I sometimes get lost during a conversation. Memories are hard to recall. Even if they are only a few weeks old.

Paroxetine (20mg) for depression

Hi, I have used paroxetine of the brand Actavis for over 6 years. Now it’s no longer produced and they gave me Aurobindo instead. For me this just doesn’t work. I feel miserable and hardly able to do anything (don’t recognize myself). Has anyone else switched brands as well and can recommend me one? Thanks

Paroxetine (30mg) for depression

I have been taking Paroxetine from SANDOZ for 15 years now, perfectly contently. However, something seems to have changed in terms of hormones in my body which has made them stop working so I am coming off them so I can move on to Sertraline. Since I've started coming off them I've had excruciating muscle pain. Sometimes I can hardly roll over during the night because of the pain. Does anyone k...

Paroxetine (30mg) for depression

The doctor had prescribed paroxetine for depression, thinking that with some medication and a few sessions with a psychologist my problems could be solved. The doses were upped a few times to 30 mg. Even then it didn't seem to work. The side effects are less serious than I expected of an anti-depressant, but nonetheless they are irritating (drowsiness, nausea, headache). Stopping wasn't easy, I...

Paroxetine (20mg) for anxiety & panic disorder

I'd really like to know if anyone else has come of or is coming off paroxetine? Somewhere in the region of 5-10% over 6 weeks? And what are the withdrawal symptoms? I'm not taking 17 mg. And after just 6 weeks I developed nervous spasms, initially in my jaw but then all over my head and neck. It's not entirely noticeable that my head makes small involuntary movements when I'm outside but I am ...

Paroxetine (20mg) for emotional exhaustion / burnout

I'm in rather a complicated situation which led to my admittance to a psych ward 6 years ago. There I was given paroxetine. I had always been strongly against this sort of medication but it helped me enormously, and still helps me today in getting my life back in order. It keeps my head calm. I do have a relatively low dose but that's all I need.

To start off with the anxiety reduced. Later I developed other problems: difficulty concentrating, attacks of rage, problems with social contact and, yeah, also...... depression, even though this drug wasn't prescribed for it, it's supposed to be good for it.

Paroxetine (10mg) for anxiety & panic disorder

Suffered with panic attacks for 3 years. They were getting steadily worse. Nothing helped. Reluctantly started on paroxetine. The first week it really affected me. Like I'd taken some E (I've done it a few times before). Couldn't eat, sleep, really highly strung. After just a few days I halved the dose and came off it. Now, 2 months later, I've finally got my life back. I am sleeping well and d...

Paroxetine (10mg) for menopause

I started taking paroxetine for hot flushes, it's hardly known at all that this works as a drug to reduce menopausal hot flushes. I had the most awful hot flushes for 6 years and I didn't want to live any more, I even rolled around in the snow to cool down and in the summer I was truly evil. My GP said to try paroxetine and I've been taking it for 7 years and my hot flushes are less frequent an...

In October last year I stopped taking this overnight and since January I've been depressed again, with anxiety and panic.
