allergic reaction

I have hay fever , allergic to grass pollens. It always kicks in in the spring and this year it has been horrible in North California. For a couple of weeks I had to use my Xyzal every evening and even with it I had a runny nose, rough coughing and some days red eyes. I am singing and the hay fever is not helping me. My voice is getting less clear. Without Xyzal I am a mess, tired all day and f...

Desloratadine

Desloratadine (5mg) for allergy

After a few years of inexplicable headaches and symptoms of fatigue I spoke to my daughter, who also took desloratadine, and she said she had the same symptoms. She stopped and the headaches disappeared. I stopped and the headaches disappeared, as did the feeling of pressure inside my head, and the fatigue. I have depressive tendencies and these pressure headaches made the depression worse.

Cetirizine

Cetirizine (10mg) for allergy

I had unbearable side effects when taking antibiotics. I was prescribed other antibiotics. The problems just got worse. Went to the pharmacist, had to stop taking the medicine immediately. That's how bad I looked. She gave me Cetirizine. It was supposed to counteract the itch within an hour.. But unfortunately, the itch got worse and the spotty rash too. So I rang the GP again and he prescribed...

Levocetirizine (5mg) for allergy

After trying all sorts of different antihistamine tablets with middling success (or they made me reeeeally tired) I now take this every day - so as a preventative. Born with various allergies and atopic dermatitis and this medicine seems to be excellent and preventative solution. Including for hayfever, house pets and house mites. I've spoken to plenty of peers who only start taking this once t...

Azelastine / fluticasone (25 milliliter ) for allergy

This has been on the market since 2014 and I''m really happy with it. It works quickly and also stops the sneezing and runny eyes really quickly! I've tried other nasal sprays in the past and they didn't help me. I took antihistamine tablets as well but they didn't make a difference. This is a combination of anti-inflammatory and antihistamine and I get a lot of benefit out of it. I am able to ...

suffered for years with allergies and i've finally found xolair, but plenty of side effects: nauseous, blue, tired, short of breath, diarrhoea, sweating, dizzy.. Curious as to how others are getting on with it.

Rhinocort

Budesonide (100ug/do) for allergy

Because of many problems in my nasal cavities, tried all kinds of nasal sprays for my allergies. Many were useless, too short-acting or gave me side effects like nosebleeds. Back then the GP had no other suggestions so I was referred to an allergy specialist and he prescribed this medicine for me. When the hayfever season is at its worst this is sometimes not quite enough but it doesn't have an...

Cetirizine (10mg) for allergy

For years I have suffered with shortness of breath from mid-May. Also allergic to anything and everything... (even too much deodorant) but never used Cetirizine. But after one especially warm day in May this year (2016), the penny dropped. Tried two hayfever medicines and bingo. I am a big guy > 80 kg and I take 2 x 10 mg tablets before I go to sleep. Wake up as fresh as a daisy and don't even ...

Loratadine

Loratadine (10mg) for allergy

I use own-brand hayfever tablets. Luckily, they work really well for me! I have little or no problem with itchy eyes or runny nose. I do still get bunged up though. I'd definitely recommend this, small tablet so it's easy to take, 1x a day and it's really inexpensive. 9 euros for 28 tablets. I hope they work for you too!

I have a serious cow's milk allergy + lactose intolerance (yes, they are 2 separate things!) and in the Netherlands you can't get Cetirizine without lactose. You can in Spain, made by Normon, but unfortunately that's not available in the Netherlands.

Levocetirizine

Levocetirizine (5mg) for allergy

I was prescribed this medicine by a dermatologist. Doctor didn't know what had caused the itchy lumps all over my body. I was tested and it turned out that I had suddenly become allergic to fruit and nuts. I took it as needed. When I felt it starting, I took one pill every 2 or 3 days. Then I could eat everything normally again. Now I'm trying to get pregnant so I've stopped with these and been...

Levocetirizine (5mg) for allergy

I had a ct scan yesterday and the following day a really swollen face and my eyes were almost closed. I probably had an allergic reaction to the liquid that they used for the scan. I'm now taking this medicine and pentisone and I'm going to see if there's any change tomorrow, if it's worked or not.

Used this medicine for ages and it worked really well. Last year I stopped taking it on the advice of my GP. Impaired kidney function. Now take Desloratadine 5 mg (Aerius), prescribed by the GP. Less effective than Zyrtec (cetirizine).
