Mirtazapine (15mg) for obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)

In 2014/2015 I was suffering from severe anxiety and depression. I took mirtazapine to help me sleep and for my anxiety. it really helped. I was really happy with it. Together with Oxacepam it worked really well to help me sleep and feel calm. Kept exercising too, because that releases the endorphins.

Mirtazapine (15mg) for postpartum depression (PPD)

I have been taking mirtazapine for 6 weeks, in combination with lamotrigine and lorazepam and I've put on 7 kgs so far. I'm finding it easier to fall asleep but waking up again in the morning is difficult. It really helps for the depression but doesn't do anything for the anxiety. No desire for any kind of physical contact whatsoever any more.

Mirtazapine (30mg) for chronic depression

Bad depression and even though I take the maximum dose of levetiracetam (=anti-epileptic) I was still prescribed mirtazapine without considering that it's a hefty sleep drug too.

Mirtazapine (7,5mg) for depression

I've been taking this medicine in combination with quetiapine since the beginning of 2017. When I started taking this, I put on a lot of weight and I started getting (more) vivid dreams even though I am sleeping better. In the first weeks that I was on this medicine I really suffered from suicidal thoughts. They slowly disappeared. After that, I felt like my moods had improved dramatically. I'v...

Mirtazapine (15mg) for depression

I haven't been using mirtazapine for very long, but I can tell you that my weight has sky-rocketed. Apart from that though, very few side effects up to now and I'm quite happy with how it's been working. I am sleeping better and I am generally calmer.

Mirtazapine (30mg) for chronic depression

Effects began after about 4/5 weeks. Alongside headache and drowsiness, my vision has been affected! Most difficult in traffic. No exuberant moods or similar, but an improvement of my overall mood. If you are neutral then you would probably say this medicine has given me the best solutions, "miracle drugs" don't exist.

Mirtazapine (15mg) for anxiety & panic disorder

I was admitted to the mental health ward, diagnosed borderline with panic, anxiety, mood swings, severe depression. I was worrying about everything, totally stressed. What can I do to get back to a life I can cope with?

Mirtazapine (15mg) for insomnia

I was prescribed this to help me sleep better and finally actually start feeling better. I still sleep very irregularly and wake often during the night. During the day I am ridiculously drowsy and must seem like a zombie. I struggle to concentrate and often find myself nodding off.

Mirtazapine (30mg) for insomnia

First started taking Trazolan for insomnia in 1985. Then it was Remeron with mirtazapine as the basis. In 2014 I switched to mirtazapine lozenges because the Remeron wasn't helping with stress and insomnia. In 2015 I developed serious suicidal side-effects, got help from the mental health team… But I was still prescribed them. In June 2016 I stopped taking the antidepressants after another atte...

Mirtazapine (15mg) for anxiety disorder

My GP put me on Mirtazapine for burnout (and additional anxiety /panic attacks). Have used it now for 5-6 weeks. It took some time to get used to. The past 3 weeks I felt super. I could take on the whole world. However yesterday I suddenly had a setback. Down and sad. Unfortunately. Hope it passes soon and will feel like last week.

Mirtazapine (15mg) for depression

After a difficult 4 months of depression due to family circumstances, I finally started taking an AD on the advice of the GP and a psychiatrist. After my first dose of Mirtazapine 15 mg, the following morning I was definitely less anxious and more calm, and felt like eating. I'm now on day seven and I'm starting to feel a bit more unsettled again and I can't motivate myself to do anything, even...

Mirtazapine (15mg) for anxiety disorder

Use this medicine for quality sleep, it worked better at the start. Now after a long period I notice it’s become less effective. But still even if I’m not able to fall asleep once in a while, I don’t get exhausted. I started this medication for an anxiety disorder, as long as I sleep well and not get exhausted I’m able to control my anxiety. I have been able to lead a normal live for over 5 yea...

Mirtazapine (15mg) for depression

I used this medicine for a while and at the start it was really effective. It helped me to sleep and made me a little bit less depressed, but that changed all of a sudden a month ago. I had difficulty falling asleep and got more depressed, now the doctor put me on fluoxetine/prozac.

Mirtazapine (15mg) for depression

I started using Mirtazapine in combination with Sipralexa a few weeks ago. At first I experienced side effects such as dizziness, tiredness and diarrhoea. Later also hunger, which resulted in weight gain of about 4 kg. The hunger feeling remains, but I try to stick to certain amounts of food. I feel much more positive and taking action is much easier. The reason for taking Mirtazapine is insomn...

Mirtazapine (15mg) for fibromyalgia (FM or FMS)

I've taken Mirtazapine for chronic depression for years, mostly to be able to sleep properly. Worked as soon as I took the first pill after years of sleep problems. Calms my thoughts down. I have come off it once but the sleep problems came back together with severe fatigue. So I'll be on this for life. Don't have any side effects at all any more. I'm really happy with it.

Mirtazapine (30mg) for depression

Used mirtazapine (and before that Remeron) since a breakdown in 2003. After weeks of barely sleeping, working really hard and living off fruit and water (lost about 20 kg) I had to go to the doctor. That same day started again on 30 mg of Remeron in combination with temazepam to help me sleep. Take both tablets 1 hour before I go to bed, works brilliantly! After about 6 months finally slept thr...

Mirtazapine (15mg) for anxiety & panic disorder

A tip about managing your appetite: put a normal portion on your plate then tidy everything else away before you start eating. Make sure you finish off all the unhealthy snacks in the house and then replace them with healthy ones. On is on. I first started taking the medicine at bedtime. But now I take it with my evening meal I have fewer nightmares. Problems with my eyes. I'm going to the opti...

Mirtazapine (30mg) for depression

I had a breakdown, but I'd been a bit depressed for ages, I had debts that followed me around for years. The GP gave me mirtazapine and I honestly have to say that I sleep incredibly well, as I take it before I go to sleep I fall asleep really quickly and that had never changed for me. Now it's getting a bit more difficult but generally I still sleep through. Whether I'm still depressed… To be ...

Mirtazapine (15mg) for headache

I had really bad muscle tension headaches on one side of my head. I was prescribed mirtazapine at the headache clinic. The pain hasn't completely disappeared but it's now bearable. The side effects are actually good for me. I'm sleeping well, put on a bit of weight and I don't have any trouble with the itching in my mouth when I eat fruit any more. Only negative is that I'm a bit drowsy in the ...

Mirtazapine (15mg) for insomnia

Got this on prescription from my psychiatrist. I've only taken it once, I got restless legs from it and that doesn't help with sleep at all. Very irritating. I did sleep okay on this but I still woke up several times during the night. Couldn't get out of bed the next day. First I was drowsy, then I was hyper, and really, really hungry. I'm not even going to try this one more time because of the...
