Azithromycin (500mg) for chlamydia

Got diarrhea after 1 hour and it didn't stop the next day..half way through the day I started bleeding heavily. So I called the doctor straight away but she told me that everything was fine and that the medicine would help. For the next few days, I felt tired, sick and listless. The symptoms of chlamydia did go away but because I wasn't convinced that it had actually been cured, I went and got ...

Azithromycin (500mg) for chlamydia

No bad side effects in itself, just that 2 hours after taking it and after eating, we both got diarrhoea. (I'm not that bad a cook either ;-) )I had it once, my partner twice. But no problems after that. Now I'm just wondering if the pills can have actually done their job?

Azithromycin (500mg) for pharyngitis

The GP prescribed this for me because of a throat infection. I was worried about the side effects after all the negative experiences I had read on here, but personally, I found it to have very few side effects (only a little problem with some cramps and a bit of diarrhoea but it was minimal). From day 2 my throat pain had considerably lessened and after day 3 it had completely disappeared. Very...

Azithromycin (500mg) for pharyngitis

My doctor prescribed this cure for phayngitis. A few hours after taking 500mg my stomach got upset and diarrhea started and lasted for 7 hours. So I ended the cure. I'd rather have a sore throat and take a few throat tablets than diarrhea.

Azithromycin (500mg) for pneumonia

The GP prescribed azitromycine for pneumonia. It was helpful as far as the pneumonia was concerned. Unfortunately I had lots of side effects. Stabbing pains in my stomach, problems with my bowels and severe stomach pain. It made me so miserable that I would have preferred the pain from the pneumonia over the side effects.

Azithromycin (500mg) for otitis media (ear infection)

I had an evil ear infection so the GP recommended antibiotics and ear drops. After a few days the pressure in my ear lessened and the medicine did help, but I had evil diarrhoea, dark and runny. It looked like a cowpat. The worst thing is that it's still going on. It's now January. So 2 months later and there are still days when I simply need to race to the loo.

Azithromycin (500mg) for tonsillitis

A few hours after I took the first one, the pain of the infection started to disappear. I was a little bit windy and had mild diarrhoea. But now, day 2, a couple of hours after taking it, I've got cramps in my stomach and diarrhoea again but the tonsillitis is still going away. The medicine is quite aggressive, but what can you expect with such a short course? I can cope with three days of dia...
