gliclazide (30mg) for diabetes type 2

Constant headache that goes away with paracetamol but comes back again straight away. Blood sugars on the high side. Difficulty going to the toilet. Dizziness and difficulty seeing. Nauseous all day long. Stopped taking it myself. Symptoms went away.

To start off with I had good results with this medicine. Slowly though it became less effective and increasing to 3 tablets in December 2016 didn't have any effect at all.

Unexpectedly I experienced 4 nights of heavy nosebleeds. It was really extreme: 3 soaking towels, my bathroom was a mess and then after three quarters of an hour it stopped. The last time big blood cloths appeared which were stuck in my throat. After the last nose bleed it struck me that Gliclazide could be the cause. My GP looked it up and it does appear to be a very rare side effect. Apparent...

Since I've been using Gliclazide, alongside Metformine 500 mg 2x day, I have really suffered with hard stools (obstipation), found it really hard to go and feeling like there's still something left (pressure) so I spend ages sitting on the loo. Every three months I have a blood test in the hospital. It would appear that during the night my blood sugar levels increase. In the mornings it's 10. During the day it's usually about 6. Now the practice nurse has prescribed me Glicazide to prevent the increase of sugar overnight. Before this I used to take Glibenclamide 5 mg 3 x a day. I don't have any side effects from this. Since I've been taking gliclazide my blood sugar level has got really low, but weight has ballooned. By 8 kg. When I started taking it, I weighed 56 kg and 154 cm tall, today I weigh 64 kg.
