Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol (30ug/3mg) for acne / spots

I've been taking microgynon since I was 17 but I was getting spots until I stopped taking the medicine when I was 26, the spots were less, but the hard lumps under my skin remained. I was dead unlucky. Then I read some positive stories about Yasmin. So when I went to the doctor, she told me about the risk of thrombosis but I still wanted to try it. Within one month all of my spots were gone! To...

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol (20ug/3mg) for contraception / birth control

I used the cheap version of Yasmin, ethinylestradiol drospirenone. I felt less happy when taking this pill. I also took it for years. The last year I started suffering from extreme hair loss, this was confirmed by the result of a biopsy taken by a dermatologist. Two months ago I stopped taking it and since then I've gone down from losing 400 hairs to 40 hairs a day. I will never take this pill...

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol (20ug/3mg) for contraception / birth control

I have switched from the mirena coil to the Yasmin pill and up to now I have been quite happy with it. I had the coil for years and I was fine with it until the last time, when I started retaining a lot of water and ended up putting on quite a lot of weight. I had the last coil taken out after 1 year and started using the Yasmin. I stopped retaining water, got my old life back and my weight bac...

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol (20ug/3mg) for polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)

Two weeks ago my gynaecologist recommended I start taking the pill because of my irregular periods (PCOS) and depression when I'm on my period (I've had several depressive episodes in the past). Because I am trying to lose weight, Yasmin was recommended. But the last week and a half my nervous symptoms have just got worse. I feel pressure on my chest, spontaneous nausea and sweating. Difficulty...

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol (30ug/3mg) for contraception / birth control

For the past few months I have suspected that my years of fighting vaginal yeast infections (since I started taking Yasmin) was down to taking the pill. I've read more and more about it, experiences of others. So I went to the GP in Holland and switched to Lenorgestel Ethinylestradiol, the lowest dose. Since then, the yeast infections are a thing of the past and I can once again enjoy sex witho...

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol (20ug/3mg) for acne / spots

I've been on the pill since I was 16 because of regular spots (acne). I am now 22 and am still suffering with spots so I decided to switch to another pill, the Yasmin. I had read that it uses another kind of hormone than most of the other contraceptive pills. Since I started using this pill my skin is smoother than it's ever been! Now and then I do get the odd spot but so does everyone. I am re...
