Methylphenidate (10mg) for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)

Because of the pressure in my head and my impulsive behaviour, I talk a lot but it's often difficult for me to get to the point, and I'm really easily distracted. I get a chased feeling when I know there's something I should be doing. Almost paranoid-like. Had loads of therapy, lots of worry, sometimes over nothing. Feel worthless, my last experience at the addiction centre I was frequently dis...

Methylphenidate (10mg) for attention deficit disorder (ADD)

Taken Ritalin for ADD for a while. I can't even read a single page without it but the side effects are just not worth it. I feel really stressed, frustrated and anxious. I also get really stiff muscles, and my neck is the worst. The rebound after about 4 hours is really bad too, feels like your life is being sucked out of you and you're not worth anything any more. I take it now and then when I...

Methylphenidate (10mg) for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)

I've been started on Ritalin and dexamphetamine several times. on both I actually only react to the side effects. Feeling like I'm not really part of my own life, like I'm in over my head. Grinding my teeth, stomach cramps, eyes won't focus. After speaking to a speed-user I've decided to stop. All my side effects are apparently the effects of taking speed.

Methylphenidate (10mg) for attention deficit disorder (ADD)

I started with Ritalin after my examination for add, soon after I felt down and aggressive so I switched to dexamfetamine. This was much better; it gave me a ‘zen’ feeling in my head. Relaxed and concentrated.

Methylphenidate (10mg) for attention deficit disorder (ADD)

Prescribed by the paediatrician when I was 17. it made a big difference to me at school. Because of the side effects I didn't take it very often. But by studying I have gained more insight into medicines and their accompanying side effects. Decided to take this knowledge to a doctor. Recently switched to Concerta, fewer side effects and more stable.

Methylphenidate (10 mg) for attention deficit disorder (ADD)

Because of my severe form of ADD, I wasn't even able to read a book without getting distracted. Or to have a conversation with someone without my thoughts wandering off in another direction. I can't function normally without Ritalin, I'm always being passed from pillar to post and my school results were terrible. After I went to see a psychiatrist off my own back, he confirmed ADD. After taking...

Methylphenidate (10mg) for attention deficit disorder (ADD)

I tried this medicine but the side effects were too severe for me. Unfortunately we couldn't find the right dose. But luckily this was whilst I was seeing a psychiatrist and we were seeing what might help. Afterwards I switched to dexamphetamine and that is much more effective for me. But I understand that this might work for others! It's just not for me. The biggest problem was feeling like a ...

Methylphenidate (10mg) for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)

Horrible side effects, constant dry mouth, drinking doesn't help. feel really absent, No appetite, stomach pain, tired like you've done work out, you have to force yourself to eat and if you can do that, swallowing makes you almost vomit. Another effect: Grumpy, really stressed. Basically, don't give this to your child or take it yourself otherwise you will end up feeling like this, I have been...

Methylphenidate (10mg) for attention deficit disorder (ADD)

For the first three months Ritalin worked fine but then I had to switch to another brand. So the dose had to be increased. The insurance said I had to switch to yet another manufacturer and the effect stayed exactly the same.

Methylphenidate (10mg) for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)

In the past I've taken Ritalin on various occasions and even though it definitely helped reduce my ADHD -related problems, the physical and mental side-effects were so bad that I decided to stop taking it. Then the ADHD problems came back so badly that I just couldn't live with it any more. My new psychiatrist looked for another drug to help me. Dexamphetamine. No side effects and my personalit...
