Got a very bad itch after four days. Sunday after i went to HAP i had to immediately stop taking it and go back to my old insulin after two weeks i have a rash over my whole body.

Insulin glargine (100e/ml) for diabetes type 2
Used prior to Lantus, Insunal Basal. Didn't work long enough. With Lantus is is perfect, sometimes I need to increase the dose, sometimes I need to decrease it, specially when I am active with sports etc. Now I use 17 units at night. it works for 24 hours.

My experience is that Lantus works brilliantly for your glucose levels in terms of reducing certain risks. On the other hand though is the terrible weight gain of around 12 kg. It seems to me like this could drag you down into a negative spiral.
