Budenofalk

budesonide (2mg/do) for ulcerative colitis

Had problems with frequent toilet visits since May 2017, up to 8 times a day, then sometimes only once in 3 days, then I experienced significant blood loss which meant I had to see the internist and then after loads of investigations including an endoscopy and an mri scan I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. I was given asacol 800 mg 4 x a day and budenofalk foam 1 x a day in the evenings b...

Entocort CR

budesonide (9mg) for ulcerative colitis

Taken entocort for 2 months. Only disadvantage is that you have to take the capsules early in the morning. And the advantage for me was that in the first month (9mg) I had loads of energy; something I was not used to!! This disappeared a bit though when I went down to 6mg. Then I also felt nauseous and had the odd headache. For the colitis symptoms: I noticed an improvement after about 4/5 days...

vedolizumab (400) for ulcerative colitis

After two years my very severe CU is under control thanks to Vedolizumab IV. I also take a halve tablet Mercaptopurine and 3gr. Salofalk every day. It took about four months to take effect initially. The IV every six weeks is disagreeable.

Pentasa

mesalazine (2g) for ulcerative colitis

I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in June 2017. So I had to start taking pentasa. From day one it made me feel worse and by the end of the first week I ended up in hospital. I had a booster course of prednisone which fixed my intestine wall straight away, no more blood. But I still had to undergo investigations by a specialist to see if I could go back on pentasa. After just one day of pe...

Azathioprine

azathioprine (100mg) for ulcerative colitis

I take this as a maintenance medicine, together with salofalk 3 gr granules. Last month one flare up in years. (From) 2008 virtually symptom-free. Temporarily also taking 3 capsules of budesonide alongside it to get the inflammation back under control. Levels were higher. I get the impression that budesonide isn't actually doing much. Thursday I've got another tel consultation with the doctor.

Azathioprine

azathioprine (50mg) for ulcerative colitis

With this medicine, my ulcerative colitis was kept really well under control. I fell pregnant in 2014 and it was apparently fine to keep using azathioprine during pregnancy. At 6 and a half months I developed cholestasis which led to the premature birth of my daughter. At that point luckily I had given up azathioprine so I could breastfeed. Nothing had previously been known about premature birt...

mesalazine (2g) for ulcerative colitis

In March 2017 I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. I started straight away on a 6 week course of Prednisolone, as well as 4 mg of Pentasa granules in the morning and a Pentasa suppository in the evening. Once this 6 week Prednisolone course finished, the problems began. Then on 24 May I stopped taking the Pentasa on the advice of the doctor and 3 days later the problems disappeared, my bloo...

mesalazine (2g) for ulcerative colitis

Pentasa worked pretty well for a good year and a half, no symptoms, no side effects. Stopped working after this so switched to Medrol in combination with Imuran.

Budenofalk

budesonide (3mg) for ulcerative colitis

I've had ulcerative colitis for about 10 years now, and I've used Budenofalk capsules for 10 years and they work brilliantly for me. The internist wants me to switch to another medicine but I don't find them as effective for me. I've used different medicines once or twice. I'd much rather stick with Budenofalk.

budesonide (9mg) for ulcerative colitis

Had colitis for 20 years with few inflammations which were easily controlled. Problems since February, first tried salofalk enemas which worked okay, but after it got worse prescribed budenofalk capsules which led to a rapid improvement. Coming off them now, curious to see if it stays away.

Budenofalk

budesonide (2,3mg) for ulcerative colitis

Had colitis for 48 years. Earlier I spent 6 weeks every year in the hospital. Not for the past 24 years but only because of these suppositories or clysma. Last week I was given the clysma foam and, as far as I'm concerned, it's heaven on earth. Lots of my medicines have lots of side effects and with this until now nothing. Allergic to lots of medicines so I am incredibly happy. Genuinely heave...
