Azathioprine (50mg) for Crohn's disease

I have been diagnosed with Crohn... I got a hefty prednisone cure and got started with azathioprine. Initially started with 3x 50mg per day (no buildup but immediately BAM). followed by a liver and pancreatic inflammation. I always had to prick blood, medicine mirror and a slight outbuilding. In addition become bald. From here stopped and gone over at Lanvis. Become terribly ill. Not to describ...

Adalimumab (50mg/ml) for Crohn's disease

Since I've been using this I've had 14 kidney stones, 2 x prostate infections and have been very tired. The stupid thing is that it works really well for my bowels. Unfortunately these side effects are so bad that I'm having to think about stopping.

Entocort

Budesonide (9mg) for Crohn's disease

The first time using this medicine, just 3 to 4 weeks to go and I hope it helps. All is fairly quiet now, just minor infections. We shall see. The first evening I was itchy all over my body. Dry eyes and a dry mouth, that was it for side effects. No moon-face or other swelling, which was something I was afraid of. I stil don’t know if its effective or not, have to see after 3 to 4 weeks of use....

Humira

Adalimumab (50mg/ml) for Crohn's disease

The injection gave an allergic reaction after the concentration was increased. On the skin an itchy plaque forms of about 4 inches. This spot disappears after 3 to 4 days. The new concentration is no improvement for me.

Adalimumab (50mg/ml) for Crohn's disease

I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease in February. Since then I've been admitted to hospital 3 times. I have finally been prescribed Humira, which I need to inject myself fortnightly. It definitely helps but of course I don't know what the future will bring; at least the illness has become more bearable. I've had no side-effects, the only problem is that you've got to inject yourself in your own...

Mercaptopurine (10mg) for Crohn's disease

After I found out in January that I've got Crohn's on top of an autoimmune disease (CVID) I had a short course of prednisolone then moved over to Entocort which worked really well, but I wasn't allowed to stay on it. After speaking to the specialist I started on mercaptopurine, after 2 months I developed a high fever and pain under my ribs, pancreas values were far too high so I had to stop, ba...

Infliximab (1mg/mg) for Crohn's disease

Ever since I was a kid I've had problems with my stomach/bowels. After a few years I was eventually diagnosed with Crohn's :-(. Various treatments humira, Chinese medicine with herbal massages to Remicade, in the first instance a miracle drug after 1 treatment symptom-free. Until I got an allergic reaction to it. Unbearable itching. So now I'm seeing a dermatologist to see if there's anything I...

Adalimumab (40 mg) for Crohn's disease

Can't yet say whether or not this helps because I've been on a hefty course of prednisone, injecting is really easy and if you take it out of the fridge on time it's almost unnoticeable, I had a fever after the first four injections but since then nothing, but I take it right before I go to sleep.

Azathioprine (50mg) for Crohn's disease

Recently started trying to increase azathioprine, unfortunately I suddenly got really ill (feverish, miserable, …) and my liver values were so high that my doctor rang me in a panic to say I needed to stop taking it immediately. Personally I have had no benefits from this medicine.

Pentasa

Mesalamine (1g/do) for Crohn's disease

I've been taking this in granulate form for about 2 years, before that one and a half years as tablets. Keeps my Crohn's under control. Last year, was advised to stop for one month and all of my Crohn's symptoms came back, really badly. Started taking them again alongside Entocort. Now I'm back on just pentasa and everything is just fine.
