Depo-Provera

24/06/2017 | | 31moderated by Philip
medroxyprogesterone acetate (150mg/ml) for contraception / birth control

To start off with I was really happy. After the first injection I bled for two weeks but then I didn't have any more periods. But after one year of being on this I developed a chronic bladder infection, kidney stones and a painful vagina. After all sorts of investigations, the urologist suggested I should stop having the injections. Since I stopped, all of the symptoms have disappeared. According to the GP, these effects were uncommon but after going through the patient information leaflet with the GP it would seem that these side effects are known, but rare.
