Ranitidine

ranitidine hydrochloride (75mg) for gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD)

30 minutes after taking this I started to get a bit dizzy, which rapidly developed into itchy eyes and nose and then all of a sudden I couldn't get enough air and I felt like my throat was closing shut from my nose down. Within a couple of minutes my situation had deteriorated so much that we had to call an ambulance.

Been taking omeprazole for about six months. One 20 mg capsule every other day. Previously I was taking a Gaviscon tablet pretty much every day. Reflux completely gone. Haven't noticed any side effects yet. Apart from a bit of weight gain. But that's more than likely not because of the medicine but because it's more pleasurable for me to eat. Certainly helps for reflux! But after a few weeks got gigantic headache, stopped for 2 weeks and it went away. Started again and a few days later headache was back and there was also an odd pressing feeling in my forehead, like my BP was too high, that and a red face

Taken Losec 40 since 1996. Always in blister strips for maximum effect. 2 months ago the strips were replaced with a pot of 30 pills. The first week they worked optimally but since then their effectiveness has become less and less.
