Vimpat

Lacosamide (10MG/ML) for Epilepsy

Vimpat has been the worst experience I have ever had with a drug. I have been taking it for 8 months already. Recently, I have changed doctors and have just started to reduce it, feeling already better! Right from the beginning, I had many side-effects: headaches, nausea, tiredness, constipation, flatulence, indigestion & stomach discomfort, shaking of hands, depression, dysarthria, heart pa...

Keppra

Levetiracetam (1000mg) for epilepsy

I use the original brand (keppra) and it makes a bit difference. hardly any side effects. It's generally know by neurologists and pharmacists that you can react very differently to the different brands. Other brands give me up to all of the side effects, especially severe distress, instability and epileptic attacks.

Levetiracetam (500mg) for epilepsy

Treated since the age of 10 years, multiple treatments, depakine last treatment on date before KEPPRA; KEPPRA advised by the specialist to avoid shaking hands that I was prone to. End of tremors, but since: difficulty breathing a little attenuated with respiratory physio, increased heart rate and shortness of breath at the least effort, tendonitis to Achilles tendons, nights reduced to 5 or 6 h...

Levetiracetam (1500) for epilepsy

I have been epileptic for about 9 years and I have since the beginning taken the Keppra that my neurologist prescribed me. About a year later, as I still had a lot of seizures after my birth because I did not sleep, nor rested enough, he added me of the lamictal and since then, it has clearly calmed in the crisis. I can spend two years without having any. So my seizures are quite rare and when ...

Lamotrigine

Lamotrigine (25mg) for epilepsy

I’m getting used to Lamotrigine for nearly a week now, at the same time I also have to take Levetiracetam for another four weeks. I’m very nauseous after taking my medicines and I read somewhere that eating dry crackers can help get rid of nausea and it really helps me get over it. Besides nausea I have a dry throat and feel tired, not sure if this is caused by the double dose or not. I’ll let ...

Keppra

Levetiracetam (500mg) for epilepsy

I had to take these tablets after an accident because of an epileptic insult. To start off with I had keppra depakine. But it gave me an unsettled feeling and made me verbally aggressive towards those I knew. Then I lost 10 kilos and I felt like everybody and everything was against me wherever I looked. Definitely a medicine for those over 100 kg.

Topiramate (100mg) for epilepsy

Since I've been taking this medicine, I am less affected by light which means I have less chance of auras developing, which lead to attacks. But I have daily muscle cramps and I think that that's one of the side effects (according to the GP), on top of this I also take other medicines, carbamazepine and clobazam.

Lamotrigine (50mg) for epilepsy

Whilst I was building the strength up when switching from another epilepsy drug no side effects. But now that I only use Lamotrigine 100 mg once a day in the evening, I get quite bad palpitations, such that I am short of breath. That's why, on advice from the neurologist, I have switched to twice daily doses of 50 mg. It's going a bit better, sometimes I still have a few mild palpitations. Als...

Lacosamide (50mg) for epilepsy

Suffered with vertigo and dizziness for 10 years. This gave me balance problems which led to my subconscious making me really tired. After five years I started getting mild epileptic attacks. Over the years the attacks happened more and more frequently up to 15 per day. In 2013 I started taking depakine which was a total disaster. More attacks, more tiredness. Then I had keppra. No effect, just...

Levetiracetam

Levetiracetam (500mg) for epilepsy

I was given this medicine as a precaution after a few attacks after I had been drinking heavily. I really suffered with the side effects of this medicine, mood swings (mostly very aggressive). Rash all over my body. Bumps and red spots all over and a lot of itchiness, forgetfulness, drowsiness, very poor coordination (bumping into everything), now I am stopping it, the side effects are disappea...
