Doxazosin

05/11/2016 | | 58moderated by Philip
doxazosin mesilate (1mg) for high blood pressure

Started with 4mg. The first tablet almost knocked me out an hour later and without taking any further tablets my pulse was elevated for 2 days. Resumed taking 1mg per day (half of a 2mg tablet). Some lightheadness within a few hours but it did lower my BP with minimal side effects, although always with an elevated pulse. Over time (a few weeks) it had less impact on my BP & pulse -- effect seemed to wear off sooner. Started taking 1mg twice a day but soon developed swelling in feet with difficulty walking. Back to the GP so see what ideas he has for med #7. I'm about ready to give up on the whole idea as my BP is not that bad!
