Azithromycin

azithromycin monohydrate (500mg) for chlamydia

Took it with food, after 1.5 hours severe cramp, nausea and diarrhoea, so bad that I couldn't get off the loo for about 2 hours. Make sure you have nothing planned, I wasn't told what to expect and I was on the way to a meeting when this happened to me. Not fun.

Doxycycline

doxycycline hyclate (100mg) for chlamydia

On the first day of taking this I spent the whole day on the toilet and had really bad muscle pains. After that one day it was over and it didn't happen again. Pill needs to be dissolved in water, tastes a bit bitter but nothing foul or dominant. I'd advise taking it during of after eating, because of the nausea.

Azithromycin

azithromycin monohydrate (500mg) for chlamydia

In itself not really any bad side effects, but 2 hours after taking the tablets and as soon as we'd finished eating we both got diarrhoea. (and I'm not actually that bad a cook 😉) I had it once and my partner twice. Then nothing. But now I do wonder if the medicine has actually been able to do what it was supposed to?
