Simvastatin

Simvastatin (40mg) for high cholesterol

I've been using simvastatin for 2 years now and for about a year I've been suffering with muscle pains in my legs. I didn't associate this with my use of this medicine until my GP put me up to 80 mg because of cholesterol, which wasn't getting better. I took simvastatin 80 mg for a week and could hardly walk any more because of the muscle pains in my legs. Then my neck, shoulders and lower back started hurting. Then I Googled it and found this website. Stopped taking it straight away and told the GP I want a different medicine. I've still got muscle pain in my calves and lower back. But it has reduced somewhat in the meantime.
