Because I had lots of breakthrough bleeding with the pill I decided to have a mirena inserted. After reading this page I was so close to cancelling my appointment.. there are so many horror stories about it. But I did go last week and it wasn't exactly fun! It did feel a bit uncomfortable but the pain was bearable. It felt like I had quite bad stomach cramps. But I'd do it again! The day after a bit of stomach ache but since then nothing. The bleeding only lasted two days. Whether or not the mirena works for me I can't yet say but as far as insertion and side effects afterwards are concerned, I am really happy.
