TYPES OF DATA
Within the context of our (interactive) service or when for example you visit Websites, when you register as a subscriber on the Websites, when you declare your interests or when you otherwise have contact with IPS, IPS records personal data such as name, address, email address or personal interests. IPS also obtains the IP address of your computer. The IP address is a unique number that is automatically assigned to your computer. IPS uses your IP address primarily for the benefit of monitoring the number and types of reviews about drugs and for generating analyses and reports.
Due to the nature of the service it provides, IPS may sometimes require particular information from you. We are referring here to medical information, in particular regarding your experience with and the use of certain (brands of) medication. These personal data are treated with extra care. To obtain this medical personal data and other medical information, we will explicitly and unambiguously ask you for your permission. You can withdraw any consent you give at any time.
SHARING AND DISCLOSING PERSONAL DATA
IPS can in particular circumstances and without first having obtained your consent make your personal data available to third parties. Particular circumstances means, for example, lawful requests from authorities, court summons or judicial orders, procedures to detect or prevent damages or fraud, or procedures to guarantee the security of the network and the services of IPS. If and insofar as medical data is passed on the third parties, this shall only occur in anonymized form.
In the context of research, you may be contacted by IPS for your participation. Participation in research is completely voluntary and non-binding. Data from this research will always be handled anonymously.
On the Websites, general visitor data will be retained without the identity of the visitor being known. Examples of this kind of data include browser history, click behavior, visit duration and frequency (via Google Analytics). The purpose of this data collection is to optimize the design of the website. These data can also be used to provide more targeted information on the site. This way IPS is able to further optimize its service.
When you visit the Websites, IPS may automatically save some information on your computer in the form of a Cookie so that you are automatically recognized the next time you visit the site. Cookies are simple, small text files which are saved on the hard drive in the memory of your computer. Cookies help to better tailor the content of the Websites to your needs or to save your password or username so that you don't have to enter it every time you visit.
With your agreement the ad network providers with whom we cooperate place 'tracking Cookies' on your computer. These Cookies are used to record which pages you have visited in order to build a profile of your online surfing behavior. This profile is partly created on the basis of comparable information on other websites. This profile is not linked to your name, address, e-mail address and so on as they are known to us, but simply to match adverts to your profile so that they are as relevant to you as possible. The Cookies are therefore used to ensure that the adverts are as relevant to you as possible but are also used to limit how often a certain advert is brought to your attention. If you don't want IPS to store Cookies on your computer, you can select the 'Cookies off' option in your browser. Switching Cookies off can limit your use of the Websites and/or services.
IPS has protected its ICT infrastructure, such as databases, programming and Websites where personal data is handled. IPS also uses management procedures to keep the information accurate, current and complete. IPS at all times maintains a level of security in the processing of personal data that is sufficient given the state of technology to prevent unauthorized access, modification, disclosure or loss of personal data.
THIRD PARTY WEBSITES
On the Websites you will notice the option to click through to other websites. However, IPS cannot accept any responsibility regarding the handling of personal data by the parties of those other websites. You are advised to carefully read the policies (or privacy statements) of these other sites in relation to the processing and protection of personal data, since the policies on these websites may differ from the terms of IPS.
QUESTIONS ABOUT, OPPOSITION, ACCESS AND AMENDMENT TO, AND REMOVAL OF PERSONAL DATA
IPS will be clear on the manner in which they treat your personal data. This privacy statement contributes to that. If you still have questions or complaints about the way in which IPS treats your personal data, then you are advised to contact us in writing, accompanied with a copy of your ID, at:

If IPS cannot (fully) identify which personal data you would like to access, change or remove, then IPS reserves the right to ask you to (further) specify your request. As soon as possible after receiving your request, IPS shall cease using your data for the reasons you have requested and in the case of a request to change or delete your data, shall delete or update the relevant personal data, unless and insofar as the law demands that IPS retains the relevant personal data, or if there are (other) important reasons which prevent the deletion of said data.
