Experiences with Insomnia

Mirtazapine helps me fall asleep and it also helps to keep me asleep. As for side effects, i've felt dizziness, as well as a lightheaded feeling and balance problems.

At first i thought this was a kind of placebo drug, only after taking four pills did i actually feel any kind of difference, so i concluded that this medication is not for me. sleeping pills don't have much effect on me and i have tried loads of them, the only thing that would help was muscle relaxants.

A kind of wonder drug for me, i sleep right through the night. It almost feels like nighttime didn't even happen. No dreams, just a dark void.

My doctor prescribed me 2x10 mg so that i could sleep better. Works well, but sometimes i wake up after a few hours. During the day i feel kind of dejected and like i have a hangover.

hi, for years i have had trouble sleeping or i haven't slept at all! Many periods with temazepam, bromazepam, etc. in combination with alcohol. Since two years ago I've been using zolpidem, from 12 till now 1 1/2 10 mg, i sleep well or it's more like i go into a coma. This is for very bad sleepers but do be careful, it is very addicting!

I was once given this for severe stress and insomnia, been taking it for so long (50 mg as 1 x 10 mg and 2 x 20 mg for 30 years) that I can't not take it any more (been off it twice for long periods of time and they were pure hell). I just decided for myself that I need to keep taking it, after all it does more good than harm and I can sleep..... But think long and hard before you start taking ...

After the sudden death of my partner in 2000 I started taking this drug. And stayed on it for about 14 years thanks to repeat prescriptions, until my doctor realised! And that was only because I had to extend my driver's licence. Switched after talking to him.

I can only sleep with heavy sleeping agent. The side effects are severe: I'm blurred, depressed, suicidal, have concentration problems, very dry mouth, it gives holes in the tooth necks, dry skin, eczema, unstable movement, I fall fast. It is like poison that is being stored in the organs.

Three hours after taking this drug I woke up in a total panic. Sitting on the couch for a while I could recall what it was all about. Something on my to do list had apparently turned into a gigantic nightmare in very clear and scary detail. Frightening.

I was prescribed this to help me sleep better and finally actually start feeling better. I still sleep very irregularly and wake often during the night. During the day I am ridiculously drowsy and must seem like a zombie. I struggle to concentrate and often find myself nodding off.

I've used Oxazepam from Sandoz and Centrafarm for years, as needed and without any kind of addiction. All of a sudden I got Oxazepam from Accord, small tablets without grooves so not easy to break in half. I might as well not be taking these Oxazepam, they do so little for me! It's basically a placebo.

First started taking Trazolan for insomnia in 1985. Then it was Remeron with mirtazapine as the basis. In 2014 I switched to mirtazapine lozenges because the Remeron wasn't helping with stress and insomnia. The first 7 days I was a bit dizzy and not feeling quite awake. After that no more side effects. I also take Lormetazepam without any problems. My nurses told me this is for staying asleep, but here I read its an antidepressant. I would like to know which it is.

I was prescribed 25 mg Seroquel for insomnia (chronic) the number of side effects I experienced was enough to stop. As an apnoea patient, as far as I am concerned, this is not the best choice, my breathing was affected so much that it was not good for me and this was just from 1 x 25 mg tablet. From pill 1 I had peace in my head. Tried everything else so now it's antidepressants. I should have done it a lot sooner. I struggle to fall asleep but I have so much more energy that the side effect is negligible.

Easily manageable works a bit longer, sleep very well on it, more calm during the day, for example on long-haul flights etc. Recommend it for now and then, up to two times a week. Take zolpidam once a week on a Sunday to get me ready for the new week.
