Empagliflozin (25mg) for diabetes type 2

I lost 5 kg (11 lbs) after starting this medication. My penis is red and sometimes inflamed. I try to keep this real clean and that helps.

Insulin glargine (100e/ml) for diabetes type 2

Used prior to Lantus, Insunal Basal. Didn't work long enough. With Lantus is is perfect, sometimes I need to increase the dose, sometimes I need to decrease it, specially when I am active with sports etc. Now I use 17 units at night. it works for 24 hours.

Tolbutamide

Tolbutamide (500mg) for diabetes type 2

Definitely not a good experience, rapid change in blood sugars, go from hyper to hypo in minutes, bowel cramps, fatigue, insomnia, not a good drug in my experience.

Metformin

Metformin (1000mg) for diabetes type 2

Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be another alterative for type 2 diabetes. I'm insulin-resistant. So alongside lifestyle changes (eating healthy, staying active, not smoking and drinking) there isn't another medicine.

Dulaglutide (1,5mg/ml) for diabetes type 2

I've been taking this for 4 months now and my levels are nice and low. My medication has also been halved. I've gone from 2500mg metformin 200mg uni diamicron to 1000mg metformin and 120mg uni diamicron. Definitely recommended. And totally covered by my health insurance (Belgium).

Metformin

Metformin (500mg) for diabetes type 2

For me, metformin seems to be hardly, if at all, effective, if not worse: I got non-stop stomach pain from using it so I stopped taking it. The stomach pains disappeared immediately.

Metformin (850mg) for diabetes type 2

It's a lot of flatulence that I can't contain and so hard uitfloept, whether I'm on a visit or in a shop. My social contacts and messages are on a very low burner. Have them swallowed first 3 times daily. Swallow it now 1 x day at night before going to bed. Now goes slightly better. I experience a lot of difference between the different vendors. And then I get a different supplier every 3 months.

Metformin (500mg) for diabetes type 2

It's effective. My values have returned below the maximum threshold in a few months by taking 3 tablets a day and astonishment of my doctor who did not believe it... I preferred to take 2 tablets a day to have a more normal life which made the rate slightly higher. The treatment is quite difficult except for those who have a life of Monk... and other Epicurean. (Little alcohol in my case and im...

Dulaglutide (1,5mg/ml) for diabetes type 2

At the beginning of the week, Monday-Thursday, felt nauseous and sometimes like I was actually going to throw up. Lost my appetite because of it. No desire to eat anything but that's actually quite positive. Lost 2 kilos, hoping for more.

Metformin

Metformin (500mg) for diabetes type 2

I've had type 2 diabetes for a few years. I get 2 metformin tablets a day. Little effect. No weight loss, blood sugars haven't reduced. But I have got a bit of a problem with uncontrollable diarrhoea, lots of trapped wind. The drug was a lot worse than the illness. I've now stopped. On or off metformin blood sugars are at 7 +.

Glimepiride

Glimepiride (3mg) for diabetes type 2

Glimepiride has worked brilliantly for years. However, over the past two years the drug has become less effective. Increasing the dose to 6 mg or stopping it completely have ultimately had no effect on glucose levels. The metformin I took alongside it also had no effect,

Janumet

Sitagliptin / metformin (50/850mg) for diabetes type 2

Till 2 weeks ago I used 3 x 500 mg Metformine and 3 x 80 mg Gliclazide with unsatisfying results. The last 2 weeks I’ve used Janumet 50/850 twice a day combined with 3 x 80 mg gliclazide a day and the result is spectacular. My blood sugar was usually 11 now it’s at 6. Have to beware for a hyper. No side effects up till now so I hope it stays that way.

Trulicity

Dulaglutide (1,5) for diabetes type 2

Started taking trulicity 1.5 6 weeks ago after having taken Victoza for 2 years. From the first week onwards I had heartburn and belching, which I still have now. After 2 weeks I noticed another problem, severe (and still ongoing) constipation. I'm thinking about stopping and going back to injecting Victoza every day. Before that I used to inject Lantus and I put on 10 kg, when I switched to Vi...
