Concerta

3/12/2018 | | 28moderated by Henry
Methylphenidate (54mg) for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)

In the beginning concerta did it's job, but in the last month i found some annoying side effects like, restlessness, worrying, panic, problems with memory, mood swings, and anxiety.

Concerta

Methylphenidate (54mg) for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)

After the medicine stops working after about 8-12 hours sometimes you get headaches. They are almost certain to happen if you have just started taking Concerta.

Wellbutrin

Bupropion (150mg) for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)

I am thinking about switching from Sertraline to Wellbutrin. I do have depressive thoughts and ADHD. I am wondering what it will do to me, I have tried almost everything. Once in a while I was able to skip the Concerta when i had a party and wanted to drink wine. Can i do this with Wellbutrin? Love to hear your experiences.

Concerta

9/14/2017 | | 23moderated by Charlotte
Methylphenidate (54mg) for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)

This drug was unsuccessful. I got suicidal thoughts from both Concerta and methylphenidate, I felt like a zombie, I was really anxious and everything irritated me. It was like what was going on in my head was just getting worse. I have used this drug once before and back then it did help me. Now I'm an adult. Perhaps it has a different effect now.

Dexamfetamine

9/13/2017 | | 42moderated by Charlotte
Dexamfetamine (10mg.) for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)

Our son was prescribed Ritalin at first but its effects were too short-acting and he got rebounds and dexamphetamine has fewer side effects than Ritalin. because it's a more expensive medicine it's hardly ever prescribed. but after lots of reading about how ADHD medicines work I have found this one to be the best. Except the retard form wasn't enough for my son at 3x a day at 20mg. And that's a...

Dexamfetamine

9/12/2017 | | 43moderated by Charlotte
Dexamfetamine (5mg) for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)

First of all given the rebound effect of methylphenidate (Ritalin) the switch to Amfexa seemed to be a sensible one. Medicine isn't as strong. Rebound effects are less and mood is more stable. Now switching to long-acting dexamphetamine. Less frequent medication and less likely to forget to take it which means lower chance of negative side effects. More balance throughout the day and generally ...

Dexamfetamine

9/3/2017 | | 42moderated by Philip
Dexamfetamine (100mg) for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)

I used Ritaline for years 12x10mg, dosed 3x40 mg. I went back and forth, took 45 minutes to take the medicine, lasted about 2.5 hours. very difficult to plan. I don't have this problem with Dexamfetamine, it works for about ten hours.

Ritalin

5/15/2017 | | 43moderated by Charlotte
Methylphenidate (10mg) for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)

Because of the pressure in my head and my impulsive behaviour, I talk a lot but it's often difficult for me to get to the point, and I'm really easily distracted. I get a chased feeling when I know there's something I should be doing. Almost paranoid-like. Had loads of therapy, lots of worry, sometimes over nothing. Feel worthless, my last experience at the addiction centre I was frequently dis...

Concerta

5/14/2017 | | 54moderated by Susan
Methylphenidate (54mg) for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)

After years of muddling through on anti depressants which I still happen to be on, I started Ritalin in October 2016. In less than a week I was needing to take one every 2 hours which made me really unsettled and overwrought. Been on Concerta 54 mg for a month now. 1 capsule a day isn't enough. But I feel good, like myself again, and not so dulled.

Strattera

5/7/2017 | | 25moderated by Philip
Atomoxetine (60mg) for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)

An effective medicine with few side effects compared to SSRIs, methylphenidate and dexamphetamine. Does little for the hyperactivity but a lot for the impulsiveness, anxieties, compulsions and concentration. For me, the side effects are obstipation, pain after ejaculation (nagging pain from my prostate) and difficulties with premature ejaculation, before I've properly come.

Strattera

Atomoxetine (60mg) for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)

I've been using long-lasting methphenidate (Strattera) for a month now for my ADHD. I've know that I've had ADHD since I was 5. I started off on Ritalin, short-acting. But I really suffered with a rebound feeling. And now it seems like I'm starting to get that feeling again. My head gets heavy, I get nauseous, anxious, palpitations, incredibly tired, dizzy, crying all the time. My emotions are ...

Ritalin

1/10/2017 | | 36moderated by Charlotte
Methylphenidate (10mg) for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)

I've been started on Ritalin and dexamphetamine several times. on both I actually only react to the side effects. Feeling like I'm not really part of my own life, like I'm in over my head. Grinding my teeth, stomach cramps, eyes won't focus. After speaking to a speed-user I've decided to stop. All my side effects are apparently the effects of taking speed.

Concerta

12/7/2016 | | 50moderated by Charlotte
Methylphenidate (54mg) for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)

Hi this is an amazing medication, since I started concerta my world has completely changed. My home life changed for the better, everything's going much better at work especially my concentration, I even had a considerable period of absenteeism because of my impulsive nature which resulted in an accident on the work floor. All of a sudden everything became clear for me. I hope that my story can...

Sertraline

11/8/2016 | | 30moderated by Henry
Sertraline (50mg) for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)

Side effects I had when using Sertraline: weight gain, lower libido, no orgasm, dry mouth, fatigue. I changed from Sertraline to wellbutrin which took a lot of effort but was definitely worth it. No more side effects and I hope to get rid of all the extra weight I gained.

Concerta

7/26/2016 | | 28moderated by Charlotte
Methylphenidate (54mg) for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)

I have switched from ritalin to concerta. I prefer it. On ritalin I really suffered with "rebound". It even made me depressed. I don't have that with concerta. The advantage of concerta is also that you only have to take 1 a day and not at exactly the same time, unlike ritalin.

Concerta

6/20/2016 | | 54moderated by Susan
Methylphenidate (54mg) for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)

I take 54 mg in the morning and the effect has normally worn off after 3 or 4 hours, so then I take 2×10 mg of Ritalin, which is not enough as far as I'm concerned.

Ritalin

4/16/2016 | | 16moderated by Charlotte
Methylphenidate (10mg) for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)

Horrible side effects, constant dry mouth, drinking doesn't help. feel really absent, No appetite, stomach pain, tired like you've done work out, you have to force yourself to eat and if you can do that, swallowing makes you almost vomit. Another effect: Grumpy, really stressed. Basically, don't give this to your child or take it yourself otherwise you will end up feeling like this, I have been...

Ritalin

1/20/2016 | | 35moderated by Henry
Methylphenidate (10mg) for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)

In the past I've taken Ritalin on various occasions and even though it definitely helped reduce my ADHD -related problems, the physical and mental side-effects were so bad that I decided to stop taking it. Then the ADHD problems came back so badly that I just couldn't live with it any more. My new psychiatrist looked for another drug to help me. Dexamphetamine. No side effects and my personalit...
